Register
Register for an account with Watch Collecting and add a payment card. The card will only be charged if you are the winning bidder.
Find
Find a watch you want to bid on, then read the description fully. Be sure to note the condition of the watch in the images and description along with other details such as the location of the seller.
Ask
Ask any questions of the seller that you may have before placing a bid. It is important that you are sure as bids cannot be retracted. Be aware that questions asked in the final minutes of an auction may not allow sufficient time for an answer.
Bid
Bid live, entering the next bidding increment, or enter your maximum bid which we will use to bid on your behalf. Note that the buyer's fee of 10% (+VAT for UK buyers) of the sale price with a minimum price of £500 (+VAT for UK buyers) will be charged to your card should you win.
Watch Collecting reserves the right to place a hold on your card for the value of the buyer’s fee. This is to ensure that you have the funds available should you win the auction. This is not a charge just an authorisation, and you will only be charged if you are the winner.
We Notify
We will notify you if you are outbid, allowing you to bid again. To prevent ‘sniping’ any bid placed within the final 2 minutes of the auction will reset the clock back to 2 minutes.
You Win
If you are the highest bidder when the auction ends, you have won. The buyer’s premium will be automatically charged to your registered payment card.
Receive
You will be introduced to the seller to pay the hammer price and complete the transaction. Links to shipping, insurance and escrow services will be provided in your winner’s notification email, should you need them. Should you wish to use our escrow partner escrow.com, please check that the seller will accept this method of payment before starting the process. It is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange delivery of the watch. Based on location, local collection may be possible on agreement with the seller.
