First introduced in 2014, the A. Lange & Söhne, Zeitwerk Striking Time was the world’s first mechanical wristwatch with a jumping numerals display and a visible striking mechanism. The Zeitwerk collection with its distinctive jumping hours and minutes display is instantly associated with the brand, the windows being modelled after the 5-minute clock in Dresden’s famous Semper Opera House. The Striking Time model takes this further with the addition of a repeating function that chimes the hours and the quarters on demand.

Cased in rose gold and with a silvered dial, the watch is powered by calibre L043.2 comprising a staggering 528 movement parts, including 78 jewels. The manual wind movement offers a power reserve of 36 hours. This is a watch that demands attention, whether it is waiting for the time display to jump every minute or watching the chiming hammers beating away at the bottom of the dial, it is a tactile and responsive wearing experience.

Purchased from new in 2018 by the current seller, the watch is offered in excellent condition with only light wear marks to the bezel and lugs and light creasing to the strap. The watch is offered with full box, booklets, and warranty documents.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
