This 7928 Submariner was built in 1964 and features two notable particularities. Firstly, the case has rounded crown guards, which were seen for the first time on this reference and would go on to be a key design element on Submariners through to the 1990s. The other is the bezel insert, which has pronounced discolouration due to prolonged exposure to UV rays. Referred to as “tropical”, this change in appearance is highly sought after by collectors. The watch’s matte-black dial has silver printing, including the original Tudor rose logo and the self-winding ‘smile’. The tritium filled hour markers and hands have faded to a warm patina. In accordance with the parts specified for this model, it features a Rolex signed crown.

The watch is presented in good condition with wear commensurate with age. Also included in the sale is a period-correct Tudor box and a service receipt dated May 2018.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
