2018 RESSENCE TYPE-5

2018 RESSENCE TYPE-5

We love to see something new and unique in this traditional art form. In 2010, designer Benoit Mintiens launched his innovative watch company, Ressence. Underpinned by traditional movement architecture, the watch tells time uniquely thanks to the brand’s Orbital Convex system -  a 142-part module connected to the base movement. Technical details aside, what this means is the dial’s sub-registers move around gracefully inside an oil-filled chamber - a visual treat the likes of which have never been seen before in the watch world. This Type-5 is the company’s take on a dive watch and is complemented by a traditional rotating bezel positioned discretely around the dial’s perimeter. This would suit any enthusiast looking for something out of the ordinary.

2018 AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK ‘JUMBO’ EXTRA-THIN

2018 AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK ‘JUMBO’ EXTRA-THIN

The ‘Jumbo Extra-Thin’ line has been made in a range of metals before but at SIHH 2018 the 15202IP arrived on the scene, made from the unlikely combination of titanium and platinum. Offering a nice juxtaposition of weight and lustre, this is a Royal Oak with unique character. Add to this a stunning dégradé dial, a legendary ultra-thin movement and a highly limited production run and it’s easy to see why this ranks among the most desirable of all Royal Oaks.

2022 PATEK PHILIPPE NAUTILUS REF. 5740

2022 PATEK PHILIPPE NAUTILUS REF. 5740

Patek Philippe has enjoyed a great deal of success with the Nautilus. It’s no understatement to say it’s  the most desirable luxury sports watch on the planet. What started life as a steel-only time and date model, has flourished into an array of complicated and precious references. When it comes to the ultimate expression of the ‘Holy Trinity’ brand’s posterchild, it’s hard to look past the 5740. Crafted from white gold, this technically impressive reference is equipped with a perpetual calendar movement.  We don’t usually associate rugged sports watches with grand complications, but Patek Philippe has proven that this is a rule that can and should be broken!
